Samsung Electronics seeks to change the game by opening the largest ultra-modern experience store in East Africa, sitting on a 5000 square meter area in the heart of the CBD, on Monrovia Street, Nairobi.

According to Robert Ngeru, Samsung’s Vice President and COO, East Africa, the additional Experience Store is part of the company’s investment to expand its retail network and give customers an opportunity to experience the products and services.

“This state-of-the-art store will give customers the opportunity to not only inquire about our devices but also experience them real-time, and with trained experience customer care representatives, the consumer will be able to make informed choices about their device of choice.” he said, noting that the opening of the shop was informed by the current consumer trends that are driven by innovation, technology and lifestyle.

“This shows our commitment and passion to continue serving our consumers in the most innovative, fast and reliable manner. And as we grow our retail network, at Samsung we are cognisant of the consumer trends and each of their different needs as technology evolves day by day,” he said.

The modern experience store is made of the kid’s zone that will help children interact with electronic devices and grow with technology in mind, a Customer Service centre and a zone for young adults – gaming zone and VR experience zone. It also has a Premium lounge for customers to be trained as they help themselves to soft drinks. All these zones are for the customers to enjoy while doing their shopping.

Currently, Samsung has exclusive Samsung experience stores spread across the country in all major towns. Ngeru indicated plans for the company to increase these stores to over 30 by end of year.

“This compliments our digital customer care strategy as most of our consumers like making inquiries on our social media pages. But after the inquiry they have an opportunity to come to the store and experience the devices. For now we have a foot-traffic of around 250 customers per day in our exclusive stores and with such expansion plans, we believe we shall cater for more customers,” he added.
