Elite Offset Ltd has donated goods worth Sh2m to aid in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. The goods that included 400 packs of foodstuff and 40,000 pieces of surgical masks were donated to officers manning the Athi River border point.
The surgical masks will help the police officers in their interaction with drivers especially truck drivers and those classified as essential service providers while the food will help feed the police officers and their families.
Speaking while receiving the donation, senior assistant to the Inspector General of Police Miriam Muli expressed her gratitude to the firm for their generosity and well wishes to the police officers.
“I would like to thank Elite Offset for thinking about us, as frontline workers in this fight against COVID-19. The foodstuff donated will be given to our officers who have to work till late and sometimes get home when shops are closed and cannot be able to purchase food for themselves and their families,” she said.
To aid in the fight against the pandemic, the design and print company has also invested in a 100 million pieces per year surgical mask production facility.
“We recognize that for us to fight this pandemic, we all must join hands and participate where we can. By investing in this production facility, more than 100 families will benefit from the employment opportunities that will be created,” said Mr. Harshit Shah, Elite Offset director.
