Davis & Shirtliff is in plans to launch 50 new products in the course of this year in a bid to cement its position as a leading water and solar solutions provider in the region.
The firm, which celebrates 70 years of operations in Kenya this month, is eyeing smallholder farmers and the rural market with the range of new products, in particular solar powered water pumps. The pumps are ideal for areas that do not have access to electricity.

The products have been manufactured at the Davis & Shirtliff’s facility in Nairobi’s Industrial Area and are branded Dayliff.

“The products that we are launching are all high quality and modestly priced. We are looking at economically empowering our customer and greatly improve their lives. This goal fits with our objective of offering the latest technologies at the best prices to move our customers forward,” said Edward Davis, business development director last month when the company celebrated tenth anniversary of its Westlands branch.

Affordably priced solar equipment, he said, had potential to uplift Kenyans in rural areas, especially small scale farmers, by enabling them to transform their farms into viable micro and small agribusinesses.

“Among the most important products that we will be launching is the Dayliff Solar Pump that will make solar pumping affordable to the mass market,” he said, adding that they recognise that there is a huge number of people who would want to economically use water pumps but are yet to be connected to the national electricity grid.

Other than the Dayliff Solar Pumps, the firm will also launch Dayliff Vispra back up inverters, Dayliff Brackish RO and Dayliff integrated solar streetlight among other products.
