Africa Mega Agricultural Corp PLC (AMAC), an agricultural firm based in Kenya, announced it will be integrating over 1,500 international buyers onto its digital commodities exchange during the Gulfood 2026 event held in Dubai.
This deal is set to dramatically expand the global marketplace for agricultural exporters in Kenya and East Africa. The company, which underwent a strategic transformation from Kenya Orchards Ltd in 2024, operates an integrated digital trade platform that seamlessly connects a network of vetted exporters with institutional buyers, logistics partners, and financiers.
The platform brings structure and transparency to the complex trade of fresh produce, long-life agricultural goods, food imports, and domestic fast-moving consumer goods through standardized digital workflows.
Its core strength lies in unifying critical elements such as compliance, collateral management, settlement controls, and trade data into a single, streamlined environment designed to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency.
According to Abraham Ng’etchi, Chief Executive Officer of AMAC PLC, the agreement is a pivotal milestone in the company’s international growth trajectory.
“This agreement accelerates our efforts to deepen global buyer participation on our platform and strengthen price discovery for African agricultural exports. By anchoring buyer aggregation and settlement through Dubai, we are building a scalable and finance-ready marketplace that improves liquidity while managing counter-party and settlement risk for all participants,” he said.
The operational roll-out of this ambitious buyer onboarding process is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks. At the event, this was not the only win for Kenya, as Gulfood, the world’s most influential food and beverage sourcing platform, announced that the country will host the inaugural Gulfood360 Africa/Kenya.
This landmark initiative is the result of a unified strategic partnership between Kenya and the United Arab Emirates, firmly anchored in the Kenya-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and was marked by an MOU signed between Dr. Bruno Linyiru, the Agriculture and Food Authority’s Director General, and Gulfood organizers.
The event, which will take place in May 2027, will connect global buyers and partners with a food economy projected to reach Sh73.83 trillion ($567.31 billion) by 2032. Together, these platforms illustrate a deliberate strategy leveraging high-profile global events to attract investment, forge international partnerships, and secure Kenya’s role as a dynamic gateway between African potential and global demand.
The convergence of AMAC’s digital marketplace expansion and the hosting of Gulfood360 Africa/Kenya, including the inaugural AI Everything Kenya x GITEX Kenya scheduled for May 19-21, 2026, positions the country as a host for major global dialogue and an epicenter for structured, technology-driven trade.
