Following the ban of plastic bags by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources non-woven bags became the popular replacement. Now there is a growing need for a much wider range of items made with this eco-friendly material.

To meet this demand Vitafoam Products Limited, a leading manufacturer of innovative foam based products, has introduced wine bottle bags, suit covers, car seat and steering wheel covers, laundry bags and shoe bags.

Sharad Barot, the chief operations officer of the company said, “Garages and hotels are among the organisations needing non-woven fabric replacements for the plastic products which they previously used. We decided to expand our non-woven range in order to meet the growing demand of various industries who require of these products. We are also selling industrial rolls in a variety of colours.”

Car seat and steering wheel covers, he said, are ideal for the different car brands found on the Kenyan market. They cover the entire driver’s seat and steering wheel protecting them from Greece, oil and dirt when vehicle is in the garage or service centre for repairs.

The wine bags vary in size and can carry one to four bottles. The suit, or garment bag is fitted with a quality zip, and has a hanger opening at the top of the bag for folding and ease of carrying. This is ideal for protecting bridal gowns, suits which have been dry cleaned, or for travelling.

“We also have laundry bags for the hospitality industry, or homes for clothes which require washing. Shoe bags are also available and these help travellers who need to pack their shoes to keep them from rubbing against clothes in suitcases,” he said.
