ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru last month officially launched the 2018 Connected ICT Innovation Awards, which will see young Kenyan innovators feted during the Connected Kenya Summit that will be held at the Bomas of Kenya from 22nd – 24th October.
The awards celebrate Kenyan entrepreneurs that have created new ICT solutions. Over 45 ICT products and services have been awarded since the inaugural awards which were held at the Connected Kenya Summit in 2011.
“Our focus for Connected 2018 is the Big 4 Agenda. Technology has a significant role to play in the Big 4 and I look forward to seeing how we can innovate across manufacturing, healthcare, housing and food security,” ICT CS Joe Mucheru said during the launch event at the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi.
Connected Kenya Summit has for the last 10 years been the foremost melting pot for top corporate executives and policymakers in the ICT industry. The conference brings together industry thought leaders to engage on emerging trends and innovations in the country’s ICT space.

Telkom Kenya are the title sponsors for this year’s Connected Summit whose theme is ‘Building for Prosperity’. Over 1,000 delegates from across East Africa are expected to attend the event that is also supported by Atlancis Technologies, Safaricom, Cellulant, Liquid Telkom and Intel among other partners. Applications for the Innovators award are open to Kenyan startups and innovators.
