The annual China Trade Week (CTW) Kenya conference, whose portfolio connects local businesses with Chinese firms, manufacturers, ICT providers and stakeholders, will run its 5th edition in two phases at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC), Nairobi. Conference session one will take place on June 5th, while the second conference day two will kick off on June 10th 2019.

This is the first time that CTW Kenya will organise parallel conference days to upgrade the format and create more added value for professional visitors. Much of the topics will cover trade financing, banking, the fourth industrial revolution, Impact of China’s Belt and Road Initiative as well as tourism.

To be held in just couple of weeks after China’s landmark Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, CTW Kenya will boast 600 exhibitors and expects more than 30,000 visitors thereby giving various sectors an opportunity to engage.

“We have already attracted a number of top experts speaking about issues that matter to representatives of SMEs and blue chip companies alike,” says Zahoor Ahmed, director international events, at MIE Groups.

Phase one will be from 5th to 7th June with players mainly dealing with building and construction materials, lighting, water and environmental treatment, furniture and interior, textiles, print as well as packaging and plastics. On the other hand, phase two will run from 10th to 12th June and will bring together consumer goods traders, those in automobile and auto parts, electrical and ICT as well as Agriculture. The event is scheduled to be taking place from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

“Our B2B (business to business) matchmaking platform will, like last year, provide Kenyan exporters the chance to reach out to China,” says Ahmed.
