The Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (GSMC) in Nairobi and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education (HKS Executive Education) have partnered to offer a pioneering suite of courses designed to transform leadership in Africa in response to the need for visionary and effective leadership commencing March 2018 and comprises of two back-to-back courses.

“I urge public and private sector leaders across East Africa, and beyond, to join us at our state-of-the-art facilities in Nairobi for this innovative program showcasing the expertise of two outstanding educational institutions committed to advancing our common future,” said Michael Meyer, Founding Dean, GSMC. He also pointed out that the suite of courses had to be re-scheduled to start in March 2018 due to political uncertainties surrounding the 2017 Kenyan election.

Participants will go through Adaptive Leadership for Africa: Chaos, Complexity and Courage, delivered by HKS Executive Education and The Voice of Leadership: Inspiration, Influence and Impact, delivered by GSMC. The course will help executives exercise leadership amid uncertainty with skill, purpose and effectiveness as well as develop empowered leaders that speak and act with clarity, vision and authenticity.

“In our highly mediated world, the success of any initiative or enterprise depends on high-quality, maximum-impact communications. Executives who fail to recognize this imperative will be left behind,” said Rhonda Breit, GSMC Associate Dean. “Those who participate will receive certificates from both Harvard University and the Aga Khan University. More importantly, they will come away with new skills, fresh perspectives and strategies for dealing with specific workplace challenges facing them and their organizations,” she said.
