Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, along with the ICT Authority, has announced full readiness for the highly anticipated Connected Africa Summit 2025, set to take place at Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort in Diani, Kenya, from May 26-29, 2025.
The event will bring together over 2,000 delegates from governments, tech industries, and development sectors across Africa under the theme: “Tupatane Diani.”
At a press briefing held at Serena Hotel in Nairobi on May 19, 2025, John Tanui, Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, and Stanley Kamanguya, CEO of the ICT Authority, highlighted preparations for the summit. Kamanguya assured delegates of smooth registration and logistics.
“We are more than ready. I welcome all of you to Diani, Tupatane Diani,” he declared.
The summit evolved from Connected Kenya to Connected East Africa, and in 2023, became Connected Africa, positioning itself as Africa’s leading platform for digital transformation. Eng. Tanui emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships.
“This event promotes collaboration between the government and private sector to shape Africa’s digital future,” he stated. Kamanguya added that unity is key to Africa’s digital agenda.
“Collaboration with private partners creates an environment where we can all thrive,” he said.
Major tech giants, including Cisco, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Safaricom, and KCB, have pledged support. Shain Rahim, Cisco’s country manager, noted that events like this are essential for sharing solutions, such as modernising cybersecurity in an AI-driven world.
The four-day summit will feature sessions on AI, cloud infrastructure, fintech, health tech, digital public services, and policy dialogues. Key highlights include the Innovation Village, Smart Government Zone, and networking opportunities for investors, policymakers, and innovators.
Focused on actionable collaboration and cutting-edge themes, the Connected Africa Summit 2025 aims to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation and strengthen its global position in technology and innovation.
