Mathieu Dutrisac is the new general manager for the Amadeus IT Group, a provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry. Taking over from Juan Torres starting from the 1st of July he will manage East Africa region which covers 13 countries: Kenya, Tanzania Uganda, Djibouti, Eritrea, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, Malawi, Comoros and Seychelles.

Earlier in his career, Dutrisac worked as a developer in large IT groups including Nortel, Marconi and Texas Instruments. He holds a Bachelor in Computer Engineering from Ecole de Technologie Superieure in Montreal and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, qualifications which come in handy. Apart from his B2B (business to business) experience and customer oriented mind set, his expertise in launching payments and mobile solutions in Africa will be a boon to Amadeus.

Mr Dutrisac who will be based at Amadeus’ head office in Nairobi, has made a career out of telecommunications and technology sectors, now a senior telecoms and IT commercial leader with 8 years of experience in East and Central Africa. Prior to joining Amadeus, he was chief operating officer of Airtel Congo Brazzaville; chief commercial officer of Tigo in DR Congo and head of products and marketing in Rwanda.
