The luxurious eight seater Mercedes Benz Vito mid sized passenger van will shake up the market in Kenya by setting new standards of comfort and safety. The introduction generated an enthusiastic response and 27 were snapped up in two weeks in an impressive demonstration of the appeal of the Mercedes brand and the reputation for reliability and comfort.

The Vito is ideal for carrying upper income visitors to and from airports, hotels and tourist attractions in and around Nairobi and Mombasa. DT Dobie is also offering the option of a cargo van.

The strongly built body provides quick access for passengers through two electrically operated sliding doors on either side of the vehicle making it easy to enter and leave the Vito from pavements. Once inside the air bag equipped cabin, the occupants are treated to a high level of comfort. They settle into ergonomically designed leather seats that are movable while a high output climate control system ensures protection from hot and humid weather.

The Vito has a 2.2L fuel-efficient diesel engine mated with a seven speed automatic transmission. State of the art suspension gives excellent road holding and the high ground clearance is ideal for unsurfaced roads and rough tracks.

The long list of safety equipment includes LED intelligent lighting, blind spot monitoring, electronic brake pressure distribution (EBD) and stability control. The work of the driver is helped by a Driver Assist Package, which warns about potentially dangerous situations and a Rest Assist package that gives alerts on the risk of drowsiness.
