Tech giant, Microsoft is set to change the keyboards of its Windows 11 Personal Computers (PCs) by introducing an artificial intelligence (AI) key.

In a statement published on its website, the company said it seeks to introduce the AI technology in the corporate sector.

“The introduction of the Copilot key marks the first significant change to the Windows PC keyboard in nearly three decades. We believe it will empower people to participate in the AI transformation more easily,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft Corporate Vice President and consumer chief marketing officer.

In July, the US corporation announced a subscription of $30 (about Sh4,725) per month for the generative AI-powered Copilot, which can be used to create presentations, write documents, summarize online meetings and sort incoming emails.

The AI tool is currently being tested, with General Motors, Goodyear, and other enterprise customers being the first to test it as a way of ensuring that it will be efficient and viable to operate. – TASS
