The security company will provide a secure and ‘enjoyable environment’ to motor enthusiasts attending the 2023 Africa Concours d’Elegance event

SGA Security Kenya has signed a Sh1 million sponsorship deal ahead of the 2023 Africa Concours d’Elegance organized by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club to provide guarding services.

The security company will combine technology with physical security to ensure maximum security is offered, sniffer dogs to complement the security patrols, walk throughs and crowd control management.

“We aim to provide a secure and enjoyable environment to the motor enthusiasts attending the event from Africa and the rest of the world, some of whom are our SGA Security Kenya clients, as we celebrate and be in awe of the different models and types of cars and motorcycles that will be showcased,” SGA Security Kenya country manager Lucas Ndolo, said.

Themed “Afrofusion,” which is a mixture of fashion, food, culture, and music, this year’s event will be the celebration of the 51st anniversary of the Concours, and will be held on September 24, 2023 at the Nairobi Racecourse along Ngong Road. The event not only showcases classic automobiles but also has a variety of spectator attractions including a children’s centre.

“We are glad to have SGA Security Kenya onboard providing their top-notch security services at this year’s event. The Africa Concours d’Elegance is an event that we hold annually and has Africa continental status recognised and sanctioned by Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Africa,” said Alfa Romeo Owners Club Chairman Peter Wanday.

The Africa Concours d’Elegance is a “classy event” that started in earnest in 1971 to celebrate the Alfa Romeo Owners Club first anniversary, which attracts over 10,000 car and motor enthusiasts annually, with part of its highlight being the judging of 70 classic and vintage cars and 40 motorcycles under regulations approved by the Kenya Motor Sport Federation (KMSF).
