TIME, an iconic global brand, has announced the launch of TIME Africa, a new regional expansion dedicated to the continent. The over 100-year-old brand is embarking on this new chapter in collaboration with Global Venture Partners (GVP), marking a major investment in African storytelling and discourse.
Scheduled to debut digitally in September 2025 at Africa.TIME.com, the platform will serve as a hub for trusted journalism and live events, designed to connect with audiences across the continent. The initiative aims to leverage TIME’s century-long legacy of credible reporting and its unique ability to convene important conversations, bringing a focused lens to the region’s dynamic evolution.
According to Jessica Sibley, Chief Executive Officer of TIME, the brand is committed to this new audience. “TIME has provided trusted journalism and thoughtful perspectives to readers around the world for over a century. With the launch of TIME Africa, we are continuing our commitment to reach new audiences, further our presence and coverage of the continent’s leaders, visionaries, and changemakers, and shine a spotlight on the stories that matter most. We are pleased to collaborate with Global Venture Partners to bring this platform to the continent,” she said.
Josh Wilson, Managing Director of Global Venture Partners, also shared this view, noting the profound changes underway. “Africa is going through massive transformation across business, culture, and society, and now more than ever it is critical that the continent has a dedicated platform within TIME to spotlight its growth and impact on the world stage. TIME is one of the most respected and recognized brands in the world,” he said.
He also expressed pride that GVP was selected as the trusted partner for this ambitious expansion of one of the world’s most respected media brands.
To ensure wide accessibility, TIME Africa’s content will be published in both English and French and will be distributed across all 54 African nations, from Kenya and Nigeria to South Africa and Algeria. This extensive reach underscores the project’s intent to serve the entire continent.
The announcement arrives at a moment of robust growth for TIME, which now engages a worldwide audience of over 120 million people across all platforms. The brand has an established history of elevating African narratives, from hosting the TIME100 Impact Awards Africa in Rwanda to honoring figures like activist Vanessa Nakate on its covers and lists such as the TIME100 and TIME100 Climate.
TIME Africa represents the next step in deepening that commitment, ensuring the continent’s stories of progress, challenge, and innovation are told on a global scale.
