A second outlet of Garden and Patio is under construction and is nearing completion. This follows the success of first one opened along Mombasa rd in November last year. Housed in the compound of Vitafoam Products Ltd on Muthithi Road in Westlands, the new shop alongside the first one is providing customers with a range of garden, backyard, balconies and veranda items.

The Mombasa Road shop, according to Rakesh Shah, the managing director, serves those living around South C and B, Nairobi West and as far as Athi River and Kitengela, especially, where stand-alone homes in eighth and quarter plots are coming up in droves. With the Muthithi road shop, Mr Shah says, they are targeting families in Parklands, Westlands, Muthaiga, Runda, Spring Valley, Kileleshwa and Lavington.

Garden and Patio is a sister company of Vitafoam Products Limited, which supplies homes, hotels, hospitals and schools with mattresses and other foam products. The Garden and patio concept is ideal for people who would like to design a stylish and serene outdoor sanctuary.

“It is for those families who enjoy dining and entertaining outdoors.  This is also suitable for offices, hospitals, hotels, schools and various institutions,” says the managing director.
The majority of the items available at the Garden and Patio are made from local materials.  The furniture includes benches, tables, chairs, mirrors and wooden swings.  Among the flooring materials are double and light duty cobblestones and tiling pavers, which give a warm welcome on walkways.

“There,” adds Mr Shah, “is also a wide selection of outdoor lights, lanterns and flower pots to adorn gardens and patios.  The plants on offer range from palms to miniature trees which can also be purchased from the Garden and Patio outlets.”
