The digital era poses a threat to a number of sectors and gradually continues to render a number of conventional concepts irrelevant. Digitalization calls for evolution across the board. What if someone told you in a few years malls would be considered irrelevant? And instead of running across town to find a laundry service, you could find all the services in one central website, online.

Uvind is a managed online service provider platform, connecting people to local service providers within their city. The computing framework is designed to offer network-based services to enterprises, residence or to other service providers. Service providers being people and businesses that provide services such as mechanics, makeup artists, hair dressers, tutors, plumbers, photographers, bakeries, chefs, software developers. Over the years, rent in malls or a commercial office premises have been on the rise. A number of profitable businesses can therefore not afford to be situated in very fancy locations however, the service platform enables the companies to all be on the same platform without necessarily breaking bank. The platform offers are cheaper to ensure the top most game players in the industry are all on the same platform.

Well, apart from connecting people to service providers, Uvind helps the service seeker to look at ratings and reviews of the services they provide from users. The users are also able to chat with the service providers on uvind.

The main advantage of a managed service provider helps reduce the inconvenience of infrastructure administration as the company solely concentrates on running the business with fewer distractions.

Uvind is an efficient platform, which helps businesses have a cost effective way to reach out to a wide range of service seekers. Additionally, it offers responsive service performance and the constant collection of information about user activity and system performance.

The method is innovative and is also an easier and cheaper way to advertise various businesses in various cities across the country. The company, additionally, has an online magazine, which helps feature various aspects entered on service providers and company profile features.

The clickstream tracking used by the company helps identify tracking to see exactly what each user is doing, aggregate data in order to help the provider identify patterns that indicate shift in demand or usage about the performance which helps the business owners and offer superior customer service, differentiate services and keep track of massive numbers of billable events.

Uvind has been successful in its unique ability to distribute data internally over the Internet from a single unified platform. It is ideal for companies looking to connect millions of users with real-time information, interactive services and with each other.

Each service provider has a work portfolio, which they can upload information to allow the users to view and rationally decide which service provider is best for the task. To top it all, local people get to rate and review each service provider according to their experience with the service provided, which promotes honesty and accountability.

Uvind massively elevates the connectivity between the service provider and the local service seekers. The process of connecting the service seekers and the service provider creates a sense of authenticity, which makes Uvind stand out.

The major challenge the company is currently tackling is assuring people and trying to get Kenyans to migrate from the traditional to digital methods that are faster and more efficient.

As a start up run by three young partners, the team works hard to reach out to young “techies” who are passionate about technology and are in line with their mission of elevating service giving interaction of humanity and help humanity serve back to the universe.

The team encourages young people to take part in “side hustles” and use their talents and skills to create a form of service such as software developers or make up artists or even bakers. Being at the early stages of their start up, the partners believe as entrepreneurs, their main objective is to create more high quality long lasting jobs in order to contribute to poverty elevation.

“We noticed that a number of times a lot of people would call their friends to connect them to a service provider. We sensed a gap that showed people couldn’t easily reach these services on the go and we wanted to fill it using technology.”Said Philip Guya, one of the directors.

Uvind is a product used in a number of urban areas primarily in Kenya & Nigeria and they hope to spread to service providers across the continent gradually.

“Get closer than ever to your customers. So close that you tell them what they need well before they realize it themselves.” – the late Steve Jobs, Apple
