ATC Kenya gets new boss

The American Tower Corporation (ATC) Kenya has appointed George Odenyo as its new chief executive officer effective January 1, 2024.

The American Tower Corporation (ATC) Kenya has appointed George Odenyo as its new chief executive officer effective January 1, 2024.

In a statement, ATC Kenya said Mr Odenyo brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of leadership.

ATC said Odenyo is a dynamic leader in the Tower industry having joined ATC Kenya in 2020 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

“His remarkable leadership and strategic foresight during his tenure as CFO have been instrumental in driving significant business growth and operational improvements,” ATC said.

Odenyo’s leadership has been characterized by his ability to execute growth strategies effectively, manage strategic relationships, and cultivate a productive work culture.

In his new capacity, he is expected to lead ATC’s “impact strategy”, focusing on areas such as sustainable growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement.

His extensive experience in the tower sector, including impactful roles as finance director at Eaton Towers Kenya Ltd and in various capacities at MTN Business Kenya, endows him with a unique blend of expertise crucial for his new role.

Odenyo’s academic credentials include an advanced management program from Harvard Business School and an MBA in general management from Strathmore University Business School.

He is also a professional member of organizations like the Centre for Corporate Governance Kenya and The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
