The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has continued to partner with government agencies in an effort to further its corruption prevention mandate.
The latest to benefit from anti-corruption prevention training is the National Research Fund (NRF), whose staff has been taken through a rigorous training on corruption prevention measures in a workshop held in Nakuru – the training which ran from April 3 to 6, 2023, aimed at enhancing the capacity of the agency to prevent occurrence of corruption and unethical conducts in its operation.
NRF is a state agency under the Ministry of Education established pursuant to section 32 of the Science Technology and Innovation (ST&I) Act of 2013. Its mandate is to facilitate research for the advancement of science, technology and innovation.
Speaking during the official opening of the workshop, the Fund’s CEO, Professor Dickson Andala, said that the training will bolster the Fund’s commitment to deliver impactful services to the public in line with its core mandate.
Terming the Fund’s operation as highly prone to corruption if proper measures are not put in place, Prof. Andala said the training will go a long way to ensure that all resources under the management of the Fund will be managed devoid of corruption or any other form of malpractice.
He further affirmed the commitment of the Fund’s management to implement a host of preventive measures that were highlighted by the EACC officers during the workshop to prevent corruption and unethical conducts in the operation of the Fund.
Mr. Fredrick Mainda of the EACC said the Commission is committed to assist both public and private sector to put in place necessary measures to prevent Corruption. The program was facilitated by EACC officers Mr. Mainda and Mr. Mbau.
