The constituent companies of Reportage Properties LLC, Reportage Properties Limited and Shree Satya Sankalp (SSS) Developers Limited, have unveiled a luxurious affordable housing project dubbed “DG JKIA” designed to set new bench-mark in the real estate investments space.

Reportage Properties, a division of SSS Developers on Saturday, June 7, broke ground at the DG-JKIA site, a first of its kind luxury hotel apartments investment where customers will own property operated and serviced inside a hotel in close proximity to the international airport.

Present were SSS Developers CEO Mr Jay VALA, Chairman of the consortium Mr Elly Owuor, Cabinet Secretary ICT William Kabogo and Special Advisor Strategy and External Communications Mr Benji Ndolo.

“As we turn the soil today, may it remind us of what we are truly building – a future of sustainable investment, elevated living and architectural excellence,” Vala said during the ground breaking ceremony held on Saturday, June 7 on old Mombasa Road (off Mombasa Road).

DG JKIA fully furnished and serviced hotel apartments, located opposite Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, will stand out for its modern architectural design, amenities that include rooftop lounge, an outdoor swimming pool, a shopping complex, and a pet-care centre for residents.

Government officials cite airport-related inconveniences and delays as among the many reasons that for a long time have negatively impacted real estate investors and potentially the financial stability of real estate developers.

According to ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS) William Kabogo, it is rare to get good returns in areas near airports within four years, but the DG JKIA presents a highly lucrative investment option to discerning investors.

“Companies and all involved (in this project) are making Nairobi look better,” CS Kabogo said.

“We shall speak to the ministry of transport to ensure that the turn around from the airport to come here if you miss it (making reference to missing a flight), you should not take more than 10 minutes.

“It is not a favour we are trying to do to this development, but it’s the fact that a lot of time is wasted in traffic jams and this should be a thing of the past in the current times,” the seasoned politician explained.

The DG JKIA project is expected to offer investors the opportunity to own luxury hotel apartments with the potential for a high return on investment (ROI) and hassle-free management by experienced hoteliers. “We saw a real estate need in the Kenyan market… This project will change the hotel business in this location,” SSS Developer’s marketing director Kingmax Mbarire, said.
