Did you know one can send money directly to your Airtel Money wallet from M-Pesa without a withdrawal code? Did you also know you can easily load money on your Airtel Money wallet directly from M-Pesa?

To send money to an Airtel customer, the receiver was previously given seven days to withdraw the money at the sender’s agent network. The process was not only inconvenient to the receiver, but also expensive for the sender as they were charged more to transfer money outside their network.

Today, mobile money interoperability has allowed customers to make (real-time) direct payments to any business till number, without having to withdraw from an agent.

“While mobile money interoperability is a great achievement, majority of Kenyans are yet to reap the full benefits in terms of flexibility, convenience and cost,” Airtel said in a statement.

The telco added that it is not only intentional about offering affordable services and products, but also creating an “inclusive, efficient, and dynamic financial ecosystem, positively impacting individuals and businesses.”

To move money from MPESA to Airtel Money wallet, a customer can dial *334# from an M-Pesa registered phone, select “send money” from the menu, choose “send to other network,” enter the Airtel mobile number (or other network user’s number), enter the amount you want to send, enter your M-Pesa PIN to confirm the transaction, teview and confirm the details, then complete the transaction,” Airtel said in a statement to newsrooms.

“All you need is to have your Airtel Money wallet loaded to enjoy the most affordable benefits, across all networks,” Airtel said.
