NCBA Group has announced the appointment of Mr James M. Gossip as the new Managing Director (Executive) of NCBA Bank Kenya PLC. This decision, which follows the necessary regulatory approvals, reflects the group’s ongoing efforts to realign its composition, an initiative initially unveiled in 2024.

He takes over from Mr John Gacharo, who will continue in his dual role as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NCBA Group PLC.

Mr Gossip brings a wealth of international banking expertise to his new role, with over three decades of experience in high-level leadership positions across Europe, Asia, and North America. His career is marked by a series of transformative achievements, including executive roles in C-suite and board positions at leading financial institutions.

Known for his ability to drive organisational change, optimise operational management, and establish innovative market frameworks, Gossip is well equipped to steer NCBA Bank Kenya towards new heights.

Before joining NCBA, Gossip played a pivotal role at HSBC, where he most recently served as Managing Director for the Belt & Road Initiative and Business Corridors in the Asia Pacific region. While in Hong Kong, he was instrumental in crafting regional growth strategies that enhanced cross-border trade and investment flows, linking Asian markets with global opportunities.

He also holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, complemented by professional affiliations with the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK) and the Securities and Futures Association (UK).

The board has extended its warm congratulations to Mr James M. Gossip, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute significantly to NCBA’s vision. The appointment signals a new chapter for the bank, one that promises to blend global expertise with local market insights to deliver sustained success.
