OPPO have unveiled Reno 5 F, a device that is currently selling at OPPO shops, authorised dealers and e-commerce platforms such as Jumia, Kilimall and Masoko at Sh31,999.

Muthoni Wachira, the company’s head of communications and projects said that the latest device is the culmination of both user feedback and the extensive research conducted on the latest technology.

“Just as has been tradition with OPPO smartphones, the Reno5 F will definitely bring out the creativity in its users with new video capturing features that put the power of expert video productions in the palm of your hands,” said Ms Wachira, also sounding out the phone’s powerful features.

The device features a 48 megapixel (MP) main camera that works in concert with an 8 MP ultra wide-angle camera, 2 MP macro camera and 2 MP mono camera. This is in addition to a 32 MP front-facing camera. It also comes with photography variant, Artificial Intelligence color portrait video, which works by recognizing the person in a video shot  and can intelligently distinguish the person from their background. The person in the shot is then highlighted with enhanced and bright colors, while a monotone black or white filter is applied to the background to ensure that the subject of the portrait stands out.

On the other hand, the ‘monochrome video’ highlights and enhances a single RGB color in any shot, while filtering out all other color pallets, adding a splash of drama to your footage by juxtaposing contrasting colors – RGB is a system that constructs all the colours from the combination of the red, green and blue. The Dual-View Video also features on the Reno5 F where users can record footage from the front-facing and rear cameras simultaneously.
