Lifestyle apparel chain stores, Mavazi Lifestyle Clothing, have opened the “Mavazi For-You Mega Store” located along Pandit Nehru Road in Nakuru, in response to customer demand.

Operations manager Florence Mukuha said customers at the new store will get discounts of up to 20% on selected international and local lifestyle clothing items, footwear, babywear and related accessories.

Ms Mukuha noted that the retailer has actively embraced the “aggregator business model” to speed up and sustain its growth.

Unlike in the traditional retail model, aggregator suppliers provide sales items on a consignment basis with the products and payments remaining in control of the suppliers.

Typically, aggregators gather goods or services from suppliers and place them for sale under their brand. Globally known aggregators include cab-hailing solution providers such as Uber and Bolt, hospitality booking solutions providers like Booking.com, Airbnb, among others.

“By deploying the aggregator model, we are setting out to rewrite the fashion retailing game rules. Our partnership with our suppliers provides us with a rare and cost-effective opportunity to market a wide range of fashion and lifestyle clothing under a trusted brand name,” said Ms Mukuha.

The retailer currently operates 16 branches in Kenya and aims to have outlets in all major towns.
