Strathmore, Kepsa and BCA to host leadership conference in Nairobi

BCA, a leadership enhancement organization, in partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance and Strathmore School of Business is set to host the 2024 edition of the Made in Africa Leadership Conference (MLC).

BCA, a leadership enhancement organization, in partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance and Strathmore School of Business will host the 2024 edition of the Made in Africa Leadership Conference (MLC).
Themed “Making Africa Work for Africans: Bold Actions for Bold Results”, the conference, scheduled for June 12 and 13, 2024 in Nairobi, is expected to ignite discussions and inspire action towards cultivating exemplary leadership across the African continent.
It also promises to transform gathering of thought leaders, innovators, and change-makers from diverse sectors.
Speaking at the press launch at Strathmore University, Dr Modupe Taylor-Pearce, chief executive officer and co-founder of BCA Leadership said the event will tackle pressing issues, foster collaboration, and showcase Africa’s potential for leadership excellence.
He added that there is a need for leaders in all sectors across the continent to be intentional about taking their regular doses of leadership vitamins through learning from peers and receiving coaching.
“These two vitamins will help leaders avoid making sub-optimal decisions that eventually impact the organizations negatively,” he said.
Dr Vincent Ogutu, Vice-Chancellor of Strathmore University expressed his delight at the opportunity for Strathmore University to partner with BCA Leadership to address the leadership gaps in Africa.
“Through its highly sought-after Needs and Leads sessions, the conference will offer networking opportunities designed to empower attendees with the relevant contacts for potential partnerships,” Dr Ogutu said.
Some of the guest speakers for the event are former Gambia vice-president Fatoumata Tambajang, Mercy Wanjau of the government of Kenya, Dr Ogutu of Strathmore University, Justice Dr Chifundo Kachale who is chairman of the Malawi Electoral Commission and Karan Kapoor of Snow Trading.
Others are Ms Charity Chanda Lumpa from Zambia, Mrs Ruth Zaipuna, CEO of NMB Bank Tanzania, Mrs. Yetunde Oni, MD of Union Bank Nigeria and Mr. Allan Kilavuka, CEO of Kenya Airways.
The event at Strathmore was attended by BCA Leadership Coaches in Kenya namely, Dr Martin Oduor-Otieno, Ms Flora Mutahi, Dr David Thuku, Mrs. Anne Ngethe, Mrs. Anne Wangondu, Mrs. Anyima Okundi and Dr Mbithe Anzaya.
