Deep in the Great Rift Valley, about 265km from Kenya’s Capital City and on your way to Kisumu via Nakuru lies a classy and beautiful Sunshine Hotel Upper Hill, Kericho.
The most attractive bit about the three Star Hotel is the fact that its founder, Mr James Mwangi Kuria is a class one drop out who, like the Great Martin Luther King Jr. believed that “all men are created equal.”
The Hotel is a must visit for family and individuals looking to experience excellence, elegance and quality in every regard, from the standard of the rooms and furnishings to the superb attitude of the staff where nothing is too much a trouble to enhance your stay.
Sunshine Upper hill has 51 unique guest rooms, which comprise of single, standard, double standard, deluxe and a presidential suit. The rooms are fitted with a heater, a seating area, a working desk and tea and coffee-making facilities.
Its conference rooms are spacious with capacity to hold about 200 people comfortably and with complimentary Wi-Fi, and the latest audio-visual equipment.
The hotel maintains very high standards of food, with dishes such as Chicken tikka, migingo dynamite among many other delicious meals.
Good news is that there is an upcoming fitness center that has a fully equipped gym.
Kericho is best known for tea plantations. With an altitude of around 2000m, and almost smack on the equator, Kericho is blessed with what is arguably the world’s best climate.
Days are pleasantly warm, around 28C, nights are cool, down to 15C, and it’s usually sunny except for a brief spell of rain in the afternoon, which keeps everything lush and green.
