Unilever ranked best employer in Kenya

Fast moving consumer goods company, Unilever has been crowned the top employer in Kenya by the Top Employers Institute for the seventh time.

Unilever led the food and beverages manufacturing sector list of the top 100 employers followed by Nestle Kenya Limited. Other firms on the list include Safaricom, Absa Bank, DHL Express Kenya, and TransUnion.

Unilever Kenya’s managing director, Luck Ochieng’ said the firm aims at creating a favourable environment of mutual trust and respect for their employees to enable them to exploit their best potential.

“Our goal is to create a brighter future for all,” Mr. Ochieng said. “This recognition is a testament of our commitment to our employees that they can truly exploit their best potential at Unilever. As an organization, by ensuring we have the right values and structures in place, we empower our people to excel.”

He added the recognition provides external verification to those looking to join Unilever because they put their people at the heart of the business.

The ‘top employer in Africa’ certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute, which conducts an annual international audit of leading employers worldwide.

The Dutch research firm assesses participating companies in nine key areas: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning, and development, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, compensation and benefits, and culture.
