Suit jacket that will fit him well and create the best image possible, as there’s a suit style to match and enhance each body type. There are three typical male body types: tall, short, and round. A man’s wardrobe cannot be complete without a suit.

There are different types of suits namely: Single Breasted, Double Breasted, Lounge, Dinner, Business, Mandarin, Wedding, Zoot and Tuxedos, among others. By selecting a timeless, classic style of suit, you will be able to wear that suit for years to come.

The color can be a very important decision. Some good and basic colors for suits include black, dark navy blue, and dark and light gray. Dark brown and light brown also form good choices.

BLACK SUIT: Plain black suits are almost always made from wool. The visual weight of unbroken black is too overpowering to pair with a light, billowing fabric or a high-sheen textile. Because of its intense visual impression and the occasional challenges of matching it, a black suit is not the best choice for a man who needs one suit for rare special occasions. Black makes an excellent suit for anyone who expects to regularly attend serious or formal events, or who simply needs a little extra visual weight and authority in his wardrobe.

NAVY BLUE: Business offices that still require suits are invariably dominated by two basic colors: charcoal gray and navy blue. Charcoal gray is the more popular of the two, thanks to its offering the same high dress standard with somewhat less color-matching challenges. However, both remain enduring classics of men’s style.

Navy blue offers unique advantages that earn it a place in most discerning suit-wearers’ closets. Most strikingly, navy is a “young” color, lending an impression of youthfulness to the wearer that older men may find very flattering.

LIGHT GRAY: Light gray is a popular color in warmer climates, making lightweight wools and cotton a natural choice for light gray suit. Light gray suits are ideal for men who wear suits by choice or have all of the foundation suits covered.

Men who wear suits out of business necessity will want to opt for darker colors and more conservative choices; men who want to look sharp when they go out socially can wear light grays with confidence. The color will stand out as a consciously-thought choice rather than a default style.

Suits with bright colors are a fashion risk that most men do not want to take and so they choose to stick with more conservative colors like black, grey and dark blue. There is no reason why you can’t step out of the norm and go with a burst of color, such as a brighter shade of blue or bold red. Just remember to choose a color that works with your skin tone and wear it with other solid or subtle shirt and tie combinations.

10 SUIT RULES EVERY MAN SHOULD KNOW

1. The width of the tie should match the width of the lapel.

2. In general, thin lapels are more modern. Wide lapels are more old-school, Mad Men style.

3. A pocket square adds an extra level of polish, but make sure it doesn’t match your tie in either pattern or fabric choice.

4. When buying an off-the-rack suit, the number one thing to check is how the shoulders fit.

5. A collar gap between your jacket’s lapels and your shirt’s collar can signify an ill-fitting jacket.

6. Opt for a charcoal or gray suit over black, unless you’re attending a funeral.

7. Your belt should be fairly thin and the same color as your shoes.

8. You should match your shoes to the color of your suit.

9. Double vents in the back are more modern and fashionable.

10. For a more casual, trendy look, opt for a single-button peak-lapel jacket.

WALLETS

It is so strange that while ladies have dozens of purses and handbags, most men have just one wallet. That wallet must be simple, minimal and polite and made out of a fabric that can hold cash, credit and debit cards and other important items. Wallets come in a variety of sizes and colors and they should be folded to fit in a pocket or purse. Wallets can be marched with shoes, belt or watch.

TIPS ON MEN’S WATCH

There are some things you need to keep in mind when you’re wearing a good men’s watch. The reason is, if you’re not careful, you might end up wasting time and money on watch maintenance and repairing.

Window shop before you buy.

Do not buy a brand; buy a watch.
